Position: Specialist, Marketing Management (Print & Merchandise)

Print and Promotional Products Buyer

Bring ideas to life. We’re looking for a detail-driven Print and Promotional Products Buyer to source, negotiate, and manage the production of everything from marketing collateral and large-format displays to branded merchandise and promotional products. You’ll work closely with designers, marketers, and vendors to ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.

What You’ll Do
  • Source and manage print and promotional product vendors, balancing quality, cost, and deadlines.
  • Oversee the buying and production of printed materials, branded merchandise, and specialty promotional items.
  • Review proofs, product samples, press checks, and final output to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Keep projects on track with clear timelines, accurate budgets, and strong vendor communication.
  • Negotiate pricing, production schedules, and service levels to maximize value and performance.
  • Explore new printing technologies, promotional product trends, and sustainable sourcing options.
What You Bring
  • Experience in print buying, print production, promotional products sourcing, or a related procurement role.
  • Knowledge of offset, digital, and large-format printing, as well as promotional product purchasing and production processes.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and project coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong eye for quality, brand consistency, and execution.

This hybrid position is based in Columbus, OH. Candidates located near a Nationwide campus will collaborate in office 3 days per week. Current remote associates may also be considered.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.
  • Assists with the completion of moderate to complex projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.
  • Assists with implementation of digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning and execution.
  • Collaborates on and assists with creative development and provides feedback on look and feel.
  • Uses customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and assists in forecasting market, competitor and customer needs and behavior, helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.
  • Monitors timelines to ensure programs are on strategy and on schedule. Informs leader of any discrepancies.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to Director/Manager. This is an individual contributor role.

Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field preferred.

License/Certification/Designation
:
Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position; and associates will need to acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the designated time period. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
