Digital Marketing, Marketing Management, Ecommerce
Our client is a founder-led, 25-year-old ecommerce company with a portfolio of consumer brands. Self-funded, profitable, no outside capital and no board to manage around. They ve grown steadily through two decades of shifting platforms, algorithms, and economic cycles, and they re now investing seriously in the team and systems to scale further.
They re looking for someone who can drive real performance through Meta and lead the marketing organization already in place.
Compensation- $175,000 – $220,000 USD base
, based on experience - Quarterly performance bonus
, averaging roughly $10K/quarter when targets are hit - Full benefits
: health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K with company match (fully vested at year one) - Relocation assistance available for the right person
This is a Greater Cincinnati-based role. On-site is preferred, and for the right person, the team is open to remote with regular visits, roughly monthly or quarterly, for about a week at a time. Relocation assistance is available if that s the right move for you.
The RoleWe re hiring a Head of Marketing to lead the marketing, ecommerce, and creative organization: three brand-dedicated Marketing Managers, an ecommerce team, and a Creative team led by their Creative Director. Five direct reports, real budget authority, a direct line to the founder.
Today they spend six figures a month on performance marketing. The mandate is to profitably scale that to seven figures a month. If you ve made that climb before, that experience is exactly what s being hired.
This isn t a seat where you build a 90-day audit deck and present it in a boardroom, and it isn t one where you manage the managers from two steps removed either. You ll set strategy at the whiteboard, and you ll be in the account fixing a campaign on a Friday if that s when it needs fixing.
Why This Role MattersThe product and brand foundation here is already strong, built over 25 years. What s being built now is the acquisition engine to match it. This role is the difference between six figures a month in spend and seven, between a strong product with modest reach and one that gets in front of everyone who needs it.
What You ll Own Performance Marketing- Own Meta as the primary growth channel
: budget, bidding, creative testing, audience strategy, and scaling spend while holding target efficiency - Live in the numbers
, aMER, CAC, ROAS, spend pacing, know what s working and why before a dashboard has to tell you - Push spend as far as performance allows
, this is the single biggest lever on how fast the brands grow
- Set brand-level growth strategy and make the trunk-level calls on where to invest, in people, tools, and channels
- Own the marketing budget and forecast across all brands. Profitable spend gets funded, your job is knowing what s actually profitable
- Own the scorecard and represent marketing at the leadership table
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable the marketing, ecommerce, and creative teams (they run on EOS, so L10s are part of the rhythm)
- Coach and develop your team leads
, this is a real part of the job, not a line on a slide - Manage the agency and vendor ecosystem
: hire them, hold them accountable, cut them when they re not delivering
- Lead special projects
: new channels, new tests, new brands - Stay close enough to the numbers and the work that you spot problems before they show up in a report
- A large, mature dataset built over decades of orders and customer interactions, real context for almost any test you d want to run
- A steady stream of authentic customer stories and testimonials to fuel creative
- A strong base of five-star reviews already built
- A profitable, debt-free company where funded spend doesn t get pulled mid-quarter
- A founder who stays genuinely involved as a resource, not a distant executive
Per brand:
aMER, Contribution Margin after Ad Spend, and Team Health
, a real tracked measurable, not a poster on a wall.
- You ve personally driven serious performance through Meta
, not just overseen it, you know the platform cold and you ve scaled spend while protecting efficiency - You ve scaled a DTC ecommerce brand from low eight figures to mid-to-upper eight figures
, ideally in a hard goods, lower-LTV business, with Meta as a core part of how you got there - You re fluent in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Klaviyo, and Shopify
, enough to ask the right questions and catch a problem early - You re both strategic and process-driven
, comfortable…
