The Young Lives Coordinator serves in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures established by mission leadership to develop and sustain Young Lives ministries in the respective areas.
Responsibilities- Spiritual Development:
- Lead spiritual development for church membership, including prayer, discipline, fellowship and personal growth.
- Create and maintain yearly personal growth plans, emphasizing solitude, reflection, prayer and study.
- Build and maintain relationships with church communities and guide joint activities.
- Guide teams in sustaining a vibrant spiritual life linked to the practice of faith.
- Leadership Development:
- Recruit, train and supervise mentors, childcare leaders and volunteers to build effective teams.
- Provide key volunteer care, team‑building, training and vision casting.
- Collaborate with area leaders and assist with committee functions.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, campaigns and camping.
- Resource Development:
- Plan and execute fundraising events and major donor care.
- Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
- Develop relationships with schools, parent‑support programs and community organizations.
- Assist in building sub‑committees and maintaining stewardship within the community.
- Direct Ministry:
- Engage in all three levels of contact work (contact, club, campaigns).
- Lead outreach meetings, campaigner meetings and summer/camping strategies.
- Participate in summer assignments at camps or other facilities.
- Ministry Support:
- Handle accounting, administration, internal communication and data management.
- Maintain health & safety policies; manage finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency.
- Ensure accurate records for children, leaders and donors.
- Prepare yearly ministry plans and review them regularly.
- Training and Professional Development:
- Complete at least two years as a Staff Associate before assignment.
- Attend “Young Lives” trainings, regional and divisional sessions as required.
- Participate in mission‑wide staff conferences every four years.
- Pursue continuing educational opportunities, including graduate degrees, where relevant.
- Commitment to an ongoing relationship with Christ and clear communication of the Gospel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven relational skills with adolescents and adults, especially pregnant and parenting teen mothers.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, strong leadership abilities.
- Ability to travel as job responsibilities require.
- College degree preferred; completion of requisite training by supervisor.
