Development Intern – Summer 2026

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: May – August (Flexible start/end dates)
Hours: 20–30 hours/week (flexible; some evenings/weekends required)
Compensation: Unpaid internship (eligible for academic credit)

Position Overview

The Summer Development Intern will play a hands‑on role supporting RMHC of Central Ohio's fundraising and event efforts during one of the busiest seasons of the year. This internship is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit development, event planning, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and execution of summer fundraising events (golf outings, third‑party events, etc.)
  • Support donor stewardship efforts, including thank‑you letters, donor tracking, and database updates
  • Help coordinate in‑kind donations and sponsorship fulfillment
  • Conduct research on prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners
  • Assist with event logistics (registration, setup, guest experience, auction support)
  • Maintain and organize development materials and inventory
  • Provide general administrative support to the Development team
Learning Opportunities
  • Exposure to nonprofit fundraising strategy and donor lifecycle
  • Hands‑on experience with event execution and logistics
  • Understanding of CRM/database systems (e.g., donor tracking)
  • Networking with community leaders and corporate partners
Qualifications
  • Current undergraduate student or recent graduate (preferred fields: nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, or related)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed
  • Availability for occasional evenings/weekends for events
