Diocese of Columbus is seeking a Catholic Social Doctrine Ministry Coordinator
- Monday-Friday on-site (some weekends and nights as ministry needs arise - allows for flex scheduling)
The Coordinator works with theSenior Directortoanimate Social Outreach programs and ministries at a Diocesan level. This isaccomplishedin part byworking directly with parishes and other Catholic and community organization son program development that serves the poor and vulnerable in alignment with Catholic identity and the Bishop’svision and priority goals for the Diocese.

- Content creation and promotion of Catholic Social Teaching to educate the faithful through articles, speaking engagements, podcasts, eNewsletter, and more.
- Social Outreach Coordination:
To coordinate or implement programs and initiatives that address identified needs from a Catholic perspective. These will include:- Rural Life
- Mental Health Ministry
- Mobile Outreach Ministry
- Diocesan Disaster Response
- Other social concerns as prioritized by the Bishop
- Collaboration:
Maintain working relationships with Curial Departments whose mission is correlative to Social Outreach. - Other initiatives and priorities of the Vicariate
Education:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Social Work, or Catholic Educator Certification
Experience:
Previous experience in community organizing, church ministry, or advocacy. Experience in Social Work or direct outreach/Christian service.
Job Related
Skills:
Comprehensive understanding of Catholic Social Doctrine, Magisterial documents, and Church structure;excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of office equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft software applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel,and PowerPoint).
Interpersonal
Skills:
The ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment.
Language skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills are required;abilityto read andcomprehendinstructions, write correspondence, and memos. Be comfortable speaking in public.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry outdetailedinvolvedwritten or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
