GOAL: To advance the mission and vision of Central Ohio Youth for Christ as the lead mobilizer of holistic youth ministry for a geographical area of central Ohio.
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Mobilize adult ministry leaders from the community to serve, give and pray
- Build collaborative partnerships to maximize ministry impact
- Lead the ministry site to grow and replicate according to YFC Best Practices
- Manage and grow volunteer ministry teams
- Fulfill administrative leadership responsibilities for the ministry site
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Mobilize Adult Ministry Leaders
- Build networks of like-minded adults within the ministry area
- Assist with recruiting adult ministry leaders for ministry, financial, leadership
- needs, prayer needs, etc. This also includes managing prayer communications
- and/or a prayer meeting for the ministry site.
- Participate and lead their assigned See The Story & Be The Story teams to achieve goals
- by working closely with Development Team and identifying leadership students who
- have the capacity to share their testimonies
- Be an excellent team player within the broader COYFC context
Build Collaborative Partnerships
- Identify potential partners from the faith community and the secular community to
- meet the holistic needs of youth in the ministry area
- Develop and maintain those partnerships with clear objectives and accountability
- Ensure that sharing the gospel and disciple making remain central to the mission of this ministry site
Lead the Ministry Site to Grow and Replicate
- Achieve minimum target for outreach club of 50 kids in attendance (with a total of 150 unique students in the ministry site), 10 adult ministry leaders, and 1 paid staff member
- Participate weekly in direct ministry (club, small group, etc.) and manage large and small group meetings with quality content that is relevant to students
- Serve side by side with leadership of new site start-ups and ensure that adult leaders have been adequately equipped to run meetings
- Provide leadership and encourage student participation with camping opportunities each summer
- Provide and participate in high quality, area wide meetings and events as needed and use these events as training opportunities for young leaders.
- Champion Young Leader Program as a part of the discipleship strategy
- Oversee mentor/mentee and also discipleship relationships affiliated with the ministry site
- Ensure adequate relationship-building activities with students and adult leaders at this ministry site
- Manage ministry site to achieve collaborative ministry goals
Manage and Lead Ministry Teams
- Coach and develop all ministry staff in your assigned geographic area weekly
- Lead/Participate in weekly (local) staff and prayer meetings
- Ensure that all ministry leaders, and student leaders are aware of and participate in training opportunities. Build a culture in the ministry site that seeks training when it is offered.
- Oversee/lead trips and work alongside Ministry Director
- Use and understand COYFC ministry data to facilitate ministry growth
- Partner with YFC to design a 3-5 year ministry growth plan and a community assessment to inform a youth ministry strategy
- Utilize Godly stewardship of ministry resources to accomplish COYFC strategic plan objectives for the ministry site
Fulfill Administrative Leadership Responsibilities
- Ensure that ministry data is collected and turned in to COYFC
- Ensure that all volunteers complete and comply with training and other requirements
- Participate in COYFC All-Staff meetings each quarter
- Participate in YFC training opportunities for initial and ongoing growth
- Meet with YFC Ministry Director and Global Village for collaborative ministry oversight
Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
As an employee of Youth for Christ and a minister of the Gospel, COYFC expects all employees to:
- Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
- Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
- Regularly share the gospel message with students who come into contact with COYFC ministries
Requirements:
- Able to commit to the role for a minimum of 2-3 years.
- Minimum 3-5 years of prior ministry experience (youth ministry preferred)
