16 James Hematology Oncology - D/N - AYA OFFER (MED SURG UNIT)

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4‑week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. MEDSURG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

ONS CERTIFICATION PREFFERED ($)

• Goal is 1:4, can be 1:5
• Weekends – variable based on unit needs
• No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
• Self‑schedule requests: you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
• First week of orientation is Mon‑Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on‑unit orientation with a preceptor
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units

• Lymphoma
• Multiple Myeloma
• Acute leukemias
• Chronic Leukemias
• Sickle Cell Disease
• Other non‑hem cancers
• Other benign hematology

• Chemotherapy
• Blood transfusions
• IV Antibiotics
• Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome
• Insulin drips
• Heparin drips
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

• BLS
• ACLS

• MS/Telemetry
• Telemetry – on the unit monitoring
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Feeding tube care and management
• IV therapy/Phlebotomy
• Blood Product Administration
• Central line blood draw
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs

• EPIC
