Travel Nursing Job Details- Location: Columbus, OH 43210
- Start Date: 03/23/2026
- End Date: 07/13/2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel RN (On-Site)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating
- Shift Options: Days (07:00–19:30) and Nights (19:00–07:30); rotating based on department needs
- Scheduling: Self-schedule requests considered; final schedule balanced to unit needs (no blocked scheduling)
- Unit Focus: Surgical Oncology PCU/Stepdown unit (mixed acuity: PCU + Med-Surg)
- Patient Ratios: Goal 1:4 (may be 1:5 based on census/acuity)
- Floating: May float to other acute care oncology units
- Orientation: 72 hours total:
Week 1 Mon–Fri dayshift onboarding;
Week 2 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor
- Experience: 2 years of RN experience required, including recent PCU/Stepdown experience (within the last 3 years)
- License: Active RN license (compact or Ohio) in hand at time of submission
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Preferred: ONS Chemotherapy Certification
- Charting: EPIC experience required
- Clinical Skills: Telemetry monitoring; dysrhythmia interpretation/management; tracheostomy care;
BiPAP/CPAP; chest tube care; heparin and insulin drips - References: 2 professional references (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leader; no coworker-only references)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a mixed-acuity Surgical Oncology PCU/Stepdown + Med-Surg environment
- Manage complex post-operative and oncology-related conditions, including oncologic emergencies and high-risk medication infusions
- Administer and monitor therapies such as chemotherapy (as applicable), blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and continuous drips (e.g., heparin, insulin)
- Perform focused assessments and continuous telemetry monitoring; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
- Support specialized care needs including chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (IV team, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, rapid response) to coordinate safe, effective acute care
- Maintain strong infection prevention practices and fall-risk interventions in a high-volume surgical unit
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC and follow unit protocols, safety standards, and escalation pathways
