American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a compact or OH RN license, with strong critical care and EPIC EMR skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Treats patients with diagnoses such as oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleeds, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and sepsis
- Common procedures include mechanical ventilation, pulmonary artery catheter placement, CRRT, arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy administration, central venous catheter care, bronchoscopy, and endoscopy
- Uses specialized equipment including ventilators and pulmonary artery catheters
- Documentation via EPIC is required
- 12-hour night or rotating day/night shifts available, with shift assignments based on departmental needs
- No floating, call, or specific weekend details provided
- Perform advanced critical care interventions and complex medication regimens for high-acuity patients
- Participate in clinical trials and chemotherapy administration as per patient needs
- All candidates must promptly complete OH fingerprinting upon assignment confirmation
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- RTO (scheduled time off) must be disclosed at the time of application
- Team-supported environment with a mix of advanced and chronic care cases
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent MICU experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Proficient with mechanical ventilators and IV starts
- Proven EPIC EMR experience required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, with one from a supervisor or manager
- First time travelers will not be considered
- Must not have been a permanent employee of this health system within the past 6 months
