• Work in a corrections health unit serving ODRC inmates and float to various Oncology Medical‑Surgical (MS) units as needed
• Patient population includes those with active oncology diagnoses, oncology workup admissions, and non‑oncology medical‑surgical needs
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 for PCU and 1:4‑5 for MS unit
• Unit is locked and access is controlled by Corrections Officers with a CO to inmate ratio of 1:2
• Shifts may include days, nights, or rotating days and nights based on departmental needs; assignments may change every 4 weeks
• Uses Pyxis for medication management and EPIC for documentation
• Primary responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia management, IV and central line care, blood administration, hemodialysis support, and respiratory interventions
• Must be able to ensure staff safety in a secure corrections environment
• Support services available include interpretation, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response, respiratory, social services, and transportation
• Oncology experience is preferred but not required
• All time‑off requests must be submitted for contract inclusion
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Urgent OH fingerprinting process required upon contract signing

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required
• Medical‑Surgical/Telemetry skills required
• Minimum education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or formal leadership role
• Former employees eligible if away from the facility for at least 6 months; current employees of Ohio State University hospitals ineligible as travelers
