Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift 3x12.0

This is a 13‑week contract position. Night shift (3x12 hour shifts).

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety. This role includes adhering to the Select Medical Core Values of superior quality, teamwork, and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized plans of care.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of all assessments and interventions in the medical record.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education for patients and families.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Effectively communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Maintain personal and environmental safety following hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit operations and participate in team‑building activities.
  • Assume charge responsibility as requested and monitor supply usage.
  • Pursue professional development to enhance skills and competencies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
