American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring experience with EPIC charting and willingness to work in a secure corrections environment.

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a corrections health setting
• Patients include adult inmates with oncologic and non-oncologic diagnoses
• Float between PCU and various Oncology Medical‑Surgical units as needed
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 in PCU and 1:4‑5 in Medical‑Surgical
• CO to inmate ratio is 1:2 on a locked, controlled‑access unit
• Schedules may vary between day (7:00‑19:30) and night (19:00‑7:30) 12‑hour shifts with possible rotation
• Weekend shifts vary based on unit requirements and scheduling needs
• Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
• Role includes providing nursing care to a secure corrections population within a locked unit
• Will support Oncology patients and those with complex medical needs, including post‑surgical and high‑acuity cases
• Orientation provided to unit procedures and safety protocols
• Access to multidisciplinary support including pharmacy, PT, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams
• Must adhere to RTO submission at contract initiation
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Only former employees separated for 6 months or more are eligible; current employees of OSU hospitals are not eligible for travel assignments
• Dress code and scrubs information will be provided during onboarding
• Urgent completion of credentialing and fingerprinting is required to avoid contract delays

• Active OH or Compact RN license in hand
• Completion of a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Prior Medical‑Surgical and telemetry skills required
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and unit‑based telemetry
• Competency in IV therapy, blood administration, central line management, and management of cardiac drips (not titrating)
• Ability to work with feeding tubes, tracheostomies, CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and non‑invasive airway management
• Two professional references are required, with at least one from a manager or similar leadership position
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract acceptance
