American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of high acuity Med Surg Tele experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care beds across specialized inpatient oncology units
- Med/Surg Tele setting with patient populations including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare
- Floating required to Med Surg and PCU Oncology units
- Staffing ratios are 1:3 in PCU (can be 1:4 with mixed acuity) and 1:4-1:5 in Med/Surg Tele
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 7:30
- Weekend shifts are variable based on unit needs
- Self-scheduling requests are considered before final schedule posting
- Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
- First week consists of Mon-Fri dayshift orientation, followed by five bedside orientation shifts before transitioning to independent practice
- Responsibilities include caring for diverse oncology patient populations, infection prevention, and fall risk management
- Assignments may include floating between various oncology and Med Surg units as needed
- Active OH or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent high acuity Med Surg Tele experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
