Travel PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Oncology in Columbus, OH (43210). 16-week travel nurse assignment; night shift;

- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — Travel nurse opportunity in a major Ohio medical hub (Columbus nursing jobs, Ohio travel nursing)
- Assignment: 16-week travel assignment (start: April 6, 2026
• end: July 27, 2026) - Title: PCU Registered Nurse (RN) / Progressive Care Unit RN / Surgical Oncology nurse (Travel Nurse)
- Shift: Nights — 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
- Unit: 12 East and West Surgical Oncology — mixed PCU/Med-Surg acuity (stepdown experience valued)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940 – $2040 (gross, based on 36 hours) — competitive travel nurse pay
- Orientation: 72 hours (first week Mon–Fri days; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor)
- Charting / EMR: Epic EMR (proficiency preferred)
- Schedule Notes: Self-scheduling requests considered prior to final schedule; weekend shifts variable; may float to other acute care oncology units as needed
- Minimum 2 years recent RN experience, with at least 1 year of current PCU/stepdown or Med-Surg specialty experience within the last 3 years
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred (oncology nurse/chemotherapy administration)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and telemetry monitoring
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leader; Charge RN acceptable for second)
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing
- Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to surgical oncology patients across PCU and Med-Surg acuity levels
- Manage patients with diagnoses such as breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, reconstructive plastics, orthopedic, and cardiothoracic surgeries
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and manage continuous drips (insulin, heparin)
- Respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome and other critical events
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
- Provide chest tube, tracheostomy, and advanced wound care as needed
- Implement infection prevention, fall-prevention, and safety protocols
- Document accurately in Epic EMR and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with IV teams, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response teams
- Float to other acute care oncology units as needed to support patient care and staffing
