Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.
PositionSummary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
MinimumRequired Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Committee for Education in Nursing) accredited nursing program.
- Current Ohio license or interim permit.
- Must maintain all required education and competencies, including BLS and ACLS.
- Provide direct patient care in the pre‑ and post‑procedural areas of the Cardiovascular Lab, supporting recovery of electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, and other moderate sedation cases, and assisting the cardiology clinic team.
- Minimum of 16 hours worked per month.
- Day shift only.
- No weekends or holidays.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
