This full-time, on-site Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role is based in Columbus, OH. The advanced practice provider will conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic studies, with a focus on acute and chronic pain conditions. Responsibilities include formulating and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications and therapies within the scope of practice, and performing or assisting with pain management procedures as appropriate.
The role involves ongoing patient follow-up, monitoring treatment response, and adjusting care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. The provider will document all encounters in the electronic health record, provide patient education on pain management strategies, coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, and participate in quality improvement and practice meetings as needed.
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Ohio, with current national certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic pain, or a demonstrated interest in pain management with willingness to learn.
- Experience or training in interventional pain procedures, musculoskeletal medicine, or related specialties (e.g., anesthesia, PM&R, neurology, orthopedics) is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using electronic and paper health records, accurate clinical documentation, and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team as well as independently, managing a full patient schedule in a busy clinical environment.
- Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain) and current BLS/ACLS certification.
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program; master’s degree or higher preferred, with relevant clinical experience in outpatient, specialty, or primary care settings.
