Job DescriptionScope of Position:
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care.
Position Summary:
The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
2‑Year College Degree required, BSN preferred.
Required Qualifications- Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required.
- Current Ohio license or interim permit.
- Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
The Transplant team cares for Solid Organ Transplant patients across all levels of care:
Acute Care, Progressive Care, and Critical Care, in one of the largest inpatient units in the Medical Center. The Transplant unit has 60 total beds and also houses a biopsy suite for kidney transplant patients. This unit presents a unique opportunity for nurses to advance and broaden their experience within the same unit and team.
