Position Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

* Required Qualifications:

**** For Hire:
*** 2- year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is
** required.
*** Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is
** preferred.
*** Current Ohio license or interim permit
** required.
*** 2 years of experience in relevant care setting is
** preferred.
******** On-going:
** Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.  Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.## Additional Information:
** Same Day Surgery at University Hospital Pavilion (UH P)
** is a six–operating room unit within the Perioperative Services department at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. It supports a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics (hand and total joints), general surgery, urology, ENT, and gynecology.

The UH P team is committed to exceptional patient care, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and collaboration. Known for its efficiency, the unit continually works to improve patient flow and outcomes.##
