Scope of Position

Position Summary:
The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
- 2-year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program is preferred.
- Current Ohio license or interim permit is required.
- 2 years of experience in relevant care setting is preferred.
Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
Same Day Surgery at University Hospital Pavilion (UH P)UH P is a six operating room unit within the Perioperative Services department at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. It supports a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics (hand and total joints), general surgery, urology, ENT, and gynecology.
The UH P team is committed to exceptional patient care, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and collaboration. Known for its efficiency, the unit continually works to improve patient flow and outcomes.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
