Staff Nurse – Heart Failure/LVAD Inpatient Unit

Job DescriptionThe Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The inpatient team provides patient care and supportive services aimed at achieving positive outcomes, maximizing patient involvement in their own care plans, and reducing length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care.
The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to patients and their families, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model.
Minimum Education Required2‑Year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a major in nursing.
AdditionalEducation Desired
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a major in nursing.
Required Qualifications- Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited program.
- Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.
- Experience in a relevant care setting is preferred.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
