Certifications

Required:

BLS (Basic Life Support)

Experience:

Prior Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience preferred;
Oncology experience a plus but not required

• Float to various Oncology Medical-Surgical (MS) units within a secure correctional setting.
• Provide safe, compassionate direct nursing care to inmates with active oncology diagnoses and other conditions.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and manage complex treatments including blood products, PICC lines, and cardiac drips.
• Utilize EPIC system for documentation and Pyxis for medication management.
• Support patient care involving telemetry monitoring, ABG interpretation, ventilator management, and other respiratory therapies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and respiratory services.
• Ensure safety and compliance in a secure correctional environment.

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Ohio or eligible for licensure/compact license
• BLS certification
• Previous experience in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units

• Oncology experience (not mandatory)
• EPIC charting experience
• Ability to adapt to shift rotations and work in a correctional environment

About the Assignment This role is based at a secure correctional health unit serving Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction inmates. The facility is a locked, controlled environment with a focus on providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population with complex medical needs, including oncology, respiratory, renal, and other acute/chronic conditions. The RN will support safety protocols and work in tandem with corrections officers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
