Position: Nurse Educator (NPDP) - Inpatient Oncology

Job Title:

Nurse Educator (NPDP) – Inpatient Oncology Department (Health System Shared Services, HS Nursing Enterprise Leadership)

Scope of Position

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioner provides ongoing and constant support to the transforming healthcare landscape. The NPD practitioner functions as a nurse leader in an interprofessional environment applying evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and patient values to improve patient outcomes. The NPD practitioner engages in environmental scanning to continuously assess potential professional practice gaps and identifies learning needs that include but are not limited to emerging issues, new or updated evidence‑based guidelines, comparison of current performance and or outcomes with national data bases and use of new tools and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing AND master’s in related field (e.g., MHA, Nursing Education, etc.)
  • Two years of nursing experience
  • Current Ohio RN license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oncology RN experience
  • Strong leadership skills, effective communication, problem‑solving, and strong organizational skills
  • Interest in learning and teaching new skills
  • Recent teaching experience through employment or community activities
  • Experience with, commitment to, and competence in dealing with diverse adult populations
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Additional Information

The Oncology Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will support the James education department and inpatient acute care units. This 40‑hour per week role may vary based on need (day flex). The role is ideal for a passionate educator committed to advancing clinical practice and supporting staff development in a leading cancer care environment.
