• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and patient examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.

• At least one year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC).
• Other certifications and licenses as required for this position.

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal English communication.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and proficiency with PC skills.
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal skill to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism.
• Technical/motor skill to perform fine manipulation, assist with procedures, and use department equipment.
• Mental resilience to cope with frequent public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, and manage irregular activity schedules with concentration to detail.
• Sensory skill requiring visual acuity and effective communication.
