Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with residents and families, and other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Responsible for the coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education and various other nursing interventions.
- Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized resident care.
- Collaborate with residents, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Provide preventative and health maintenance care, including diagnosis and treatment.
- Coordinate resident assessments, education, and nursing interventions.
- Serve as charge nurse when required and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within scope and competency.
- Support and train delegates to ensure safe, reliable resident care and resolve care and service concerns.
- Operate within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act and state regulations.
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Holds an unencumbered RN license with the state board in the location of practice and/or possesses multistate licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
