Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) who supports plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager.
Key duties include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing lab test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results, following SOPs for medical emergencies, collaborating with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs, supporting vaccination programs, managing employee incidents, serving as Pandemic Coordinator, and providing support for EHS.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordination with Center Physician and transport to emergency care.
- Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and advise occupational health/ER when further evaluation is required.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations for pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program; state licensing requirements satisfied.
- Licensed or certified RN, NP, or PA in the assigned state.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requirements for basic IV therapy fulfilled.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. hourly wage range: $33.44 - $45.98, depending on experience, education, certifications, and location.
