Description:
Weekdays and some weekends are required. Rotating holidays are expected. Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3. Central line care and management is needed. Knowledge of heparin protocols is essential. Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is preferred. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias is important. Manage cardiac drips without titration. Assist in managing dysrhythmias effectively.
Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown units is required. Peripheral line care and management experience is essential. Telemetry skills are required. Titration of insulin drips is necessary. The unit serves a wide variety of patient diagnoses including renal, cardiology, and pulmonology. Specialization includes care for adult cystic fibrosis patients. Special procedures involve cardiac drips, insulin drips, and starting pressors before transfer.
Ability to use lift equipment and bladder scanners is needed. Collaborative interdisciplinary support is available including IV teams and physical therapy. Staffing ratios during the day and night are expected to be four patients per nurse. Call coverage is not required. Candidates must adhere to strict compliance deadlines. References from previous supervisors or managers are required. No coworker references are accepted.
Candidates must have completed education from an accredited nursing program.
