The team provides patient care and supportive services directed toward achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care.
PositionSummary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Minimum Education Required2‑Year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in nursing.
Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in nursing.
Required Qualifications- Degree in nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited program.
- Current Ohio license or interim permit.
- Experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
11 East Rhodes is a 39‑bed unit in the Acute Care Department that specializes in the care of older adults. Promoting the independence and health of geriatric patients is the primary focus. This requires virtual and hands‑on education for staff, concentrating on the specific issues the geriatric population can face when hospitalized. Nurses work directly with attending physicians to deliver optimal, team‑centered care.
The unit’s nursing practice is staff‑driven through the Unit Leadership Committee and evidence‑based practice. Staff development and advancement are emphasized.
