Nursing Supervisor - Patient Care Services; Weekend Night Shift

Overview

16 hrs/week, nights, 11p.m.–7a.m., every Saturday and Sunday, and holiday rotation. Pay is commensurate with experience. Benefits eligibility applies.

Oversees administrative and patient care services, providing nursing administrative decision‑making during weekends, evenings, and night shifts. Coordinates hospital operations, patient care quality, and educational activities, and serves as the hospital spokesperson for external communications.

• Serves as the administrative designee during specified hours; communicates issues to administrators, Patient Care Services leadership, program managers, or other appropriate personnel; and responds to inquiries and complaints from parents, patients, staff, and the public.
• Directs the management, communication, and resolution of emergencies and crises utilizing the HEICS model; collaborates on decisions, issues, and problems occurring during the designated shift; and responds to code blues, traumas, and other emergencies.
• Coordinates and directs patient throughput (admission, transfer, and discharge) to ensure needs are met promptly.
• Provides guidance and education on clinical decision‑making and critical problem‑solving; supervises and evaluates clinical nursing practice; makes recommendations for improvement; and supports, monitors, and implements planned changes.
• Provides input into the Patient Care Services administrative budget.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

• Demonstrates critical thinking, decision‑making, effective leadership, and teaching abilities.
• Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Acts as a role model who relates and interacts with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Organizes and manages multiple demands.

• Two years of nursing experience, required.
• Previous leadership experience is preferred.

• Occasionally: bend/twist, climb stairs/ladder, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning), lifting/carrying 0‑10lbs, lifting/carrying 11‑20lbs, exposure to loud noises, repetitive hand/arm use, sitting, squatting/kneeling.
• Frequently: computer use, decision‑making, standing, walking.
• Continuously: audible speech, color vision, hearing acuity, interpreting data, peripheral vision, problem solving, vision (far/near).
• Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
