Job Description SummaryInsert and manage vascular access devices for patients undergoing medical treatments.
Essential Functions- Assesses patients' vascular access needs and determines the most appropriate access device.
- Cares and maintains peripheral intravenous catheters, midline catheters, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
- Monitors patients' vascular access devices for complications such as infection, occlusion, and extravasation.
- Provides education to patients and their families on vascular access care and maintenance.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and efficacy of vascular access care.
BSN, required.
Licensure RequirementCurrent licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
CertificationsNot specified.
Skills- Clinical skill and knowledge in the nursing care of children, including normal growth and development, and/or clinical expertise in a specialized area, required.
- Effective customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, required.
- Demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities, required.
- Professionally appropriate analytical and organizational skills, required.
Three years related clinical experience in the area of specialty, preferred.
