Vascular Access Nurse; Nights

Overview

36 hrs/week, nights, 7p-7a, every third weekend, holiday rotation.

Pay commensurate with experience. Benefits eligible.

Insert and manage vascular access devices for patients undergoing medical treatments.

• Assesses patients' vascular access needs and determines the most appropriate access device.
• Cares and maintains peripheral intravenous catheters, midline catheters, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
• Monitors patients' vascular access devices for complications such as infection, occlusion, and extravasation.
• Provides education to patients and their families on vascular access care and maintenance.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and efficacy of vascular access care.

BSN, required.

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio, required.

• Clinical skill and knowledge in the nursing care of children, including normal growth and development, and/or clinical expertise in a specialized area, required.

Three years related clinical experience in the area of specialty, preferred.

Occasionally:
Blood and/or bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, communicable diseases and/or pathogens; flexing/extending of neck; fumes/gases/vapors; lifting/carrying 0‑10 lbs; loud noises; patient equipment; reaching above shoulder. Frequently:
Sitting, standing, walking. Continuously:
Audible speech, color vision, computer skills, decision making, depth perception, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning), hearing acuity, interpreting data, peripheral vision, problem solving, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing far/near.
