Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Developmental & Behavioral Health

Pay: $63.00/hr
Schedule:
Short term, 20 hours/week, daytime hours
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality medical care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental conditions. This role is ideal for a provider who is passionate about delivering patient-centered care and collaborating with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support the overall health and well-being of a unique and often underserved population.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and ongoing medical evaluations
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s developmental and behavioral needs
- Prescribe medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, case managers, and support staff
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health maintenance, medication management, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all patients
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio
- Board certification as an FNP, AGNP, or PMHNP
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients who may have communication or sensory challenges
- Experience in behavioral health, primary care, neurology, or disability services is highly preferred
