The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care.

The staff nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The role includes evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
• Meet professional practice models and ensuring positive patient care outcomes.

2‑Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in nursing.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in nursing.

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit.
• Experience in a relevant care setting is preferred.

• Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Maintains current Ohio RN license.
• Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.
• Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
