Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Columbus, Ohio.

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting. This role encompasses assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high‑quality patient‑centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

• One year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor and delivery
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical ability: remain stationary, move and lift equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel with professionalism
• Technical/motor skills: perform fine manipulation, assist with procedures and equipment
• Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently, maintain concentration during irregular activity
