American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum position requiring 2+ years of postpartum experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

• Hospital setting in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• May float to other units with similar patient acuity
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Cares for postpartum mothers and newborns, including couplet care
• Provides care for cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension patients
• Level 1 Nursery setting

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor;
  Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Responsibilities include administration of blood and blood products, IV therapy, and medication administration including antihypertensives, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin
• Provides postpartum care including bladder assessment, foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instruction, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and episiotomy/incision care
• Provides newborn care including cord care, discharge teaching, infant identification, metabolic screening, phototherapy, and thermoregulation
• Performs cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation as needed
• Cares for newborns who are large for gestational age, low birth weight, or experiencing hypoglycemia
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
• Required time off must be submitted and built into the contract prior to assignment start
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
• First-time travelers may be considered as travel experience is not required for this role
