American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 2 years of PCU experience and OH or compact RN licensure.
Details- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting focused on lower acuity cardiac patients
- Patient ratio of 1:3-4
- 3x12-hour Day/Night shift schedule totaling 36 hours per week
- Weekday shifts with some weekend coverage required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Floating to units of similar or lower acuity required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Cardiac experience preferred
- Strong skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Proficient in non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a lower acuity cardiac unit
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as travelers
- RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract, with in-state travel or mailed fingerprinting packets required depending on distance
