Registered Nurse - PCU

Unit Overview

17 North Mixed Acuity is a Stepdown/PCU unit with 32 beds and an average daily census of 25–32 patients. The unit cares for patients with various medical diagnoses as well as pre- and post-surgical patients with mixed acuity, including PCU-level care.

Schedule:

Days: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week, every other weekend

Requirements:

• 2 years of recent progressive care experience
• Experience with similar PCU/Stepdown patient populations
• Ability to float within the OSU organization as needed
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS required
• Ohio license required
• First-time travelers accepted

Skills:

• Preferred candidates should have experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code teams, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC care, heparin protocols, respiratory support, wound care, and pre/post-surgical patient care.
