The Registered Nurse – PCU (Oncology) provides care in a high-acuity Progressive Care / Med Surg Tele unit supporting oncology patients. This role involves managing complex patient conditions, monitoring telemetry, and delivering specialized care in a fast-paced oncology environment.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care• Provide nursing care to oncology patients (solid tumors, thoracic, orthopedic oncology)
• Manage PCU-level patients with high acuity conditions
• Administer medications and treatments
• Monitor patient conditions and telemetry
• Follow infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
• Deliver patient-centered, high-quality care
• Utilize Client telemetry (B450 monitors)
• Manage PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and IV systems
• Perform central line, PICC, and IV care
• Manage cardiac drips, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC
• Work with multidisciplinary oncology and PCU teams
• Participate in care coordination and rapid response situations
• Float between units as required
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Follow hospital and regulatory standards
• Utilize EMR systems for documentation
• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience
• Experience in PCU / Telemetry / High-acuity care
• BLS Certification (Required)
• ACLS Certification (Required)
• NIH Certification (Required)
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and critical care
• Oncology experience (Preferred, not required)
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience in high-acuity PCU settings
• Progressive care nursing
• Oncology and telemetry care
• Patient safety and monitoring
• Communication and teamwork
• Critical thinking and decision-making
• Oncology PCU / Med Surg Tele Unit
• High-acuity hospital environment
• Onsite role in Columbus, OH
• Must be flexible with rotating shifts
