PCU Nurse – Neuro/Stroke
Schedule:
- Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend coverage required
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience - BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with neuro/PCU clinical skills: stroke management, post-TPA/TNK care, craniotomy/lumbar drain management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, heparin protocols, peripheral line care, blood product administration
- Charting system experience with EPIC required
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Provide high-quality patient care to adults in a neuro/stroke stepdown unit.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, implementing nursing interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols.
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and post-discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility standards.
Compliance / Notes:
- Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays required.
- Traveler will be required to float to different units as needed.
- RTO required with submission.
- Fingerprinting requirement: complete Ohio fingerprinting ASAP; compliance deadline prior to start date.
- Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions only.
