Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Description:

Weekdays and some weekends are required. Rotating holidays are part of the schedule. The estimated patient ratio is 1:3. Central line care and management skills are necessary. Experience with heparin protocols and high flow nasal cannula is required. Interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential. Management of cardiac drips without titration is expected. Peripheral line care and management experience are required. Candidates must be able to provide care for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses.

Special procedures within the unit include cardiac drips and starting pressors to be transferred to ICU. Lift equipment, IV ultrasound machines, and bladder scanners are used. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Candidates must be prepared to meet a strict compliance deadline for credentialing. Emergency situations may require rapid response interventions. Two professional references are required, including one from a manager or director.

Education must be from an accredited nursing program. Candidates should be flexible and adaptable to changing unit needs. Travel nursing experience is highly valued.
