Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Oncology

Schedule:

12-hour day/night rotating shifts

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in the same specialty
• Epic experience required
• Valid compact or state nursing license
• Certifications:
  
  BCLS
• Telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line/PICC/port care and access
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• IV starts
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• ABG interpretation
• PCA, tracheostomy care, insulin drip titration

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical oncology setting
• Monitor and manage patients undergoing chemotherapy and those with comorbid conditions
• Administer medications and chemotherapy, ensuring safe practices and patient education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and rapid response initiatives
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and fall prevention protocols

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 72 hours
• COVID-19 vaccination not required;
  Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Fingerprinting required immediately after signing the contract
• Pre-approved time off: 1 per contract
• Weekends:
  Variable based on unit needs
