Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU night shift position requiring telemetry experience and at least 1 year of RN experience.

  • Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Scheduled to work every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights)

Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Previous telemetry experience required
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips required
  • Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
  • Skilled in use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
  • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line starts and maintenance
  • Administer respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen therapy
  • Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
  • Fingerprinting must be completed promptly after signing contract due to Ohio state requirements
  • Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location; those further away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 or more months
  • Current employees of the health system are not eligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations
  • RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • First-time travelers may be considered with manager review, though not guaranteed automatic offers
