American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a Level I Trauma Center background and OH or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Level I Trauma Center that is stroke-certified and STEMI-certified
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:3.5
- Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing
- Floating required
- Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- CPI certification preferred
- Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
- Must be comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV paralytics, and continuous IV sedation preferred
- Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted
- Provide emergency care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
- 36 hours of orientation provided
- Navy scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler positions
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing the contract, either at a local Ohio fingerprinting location or via a mailed packet for those at extreme distances
