Scopeof Position

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center -James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute 's (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization, the clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Position

Summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing andsupervisingnursingcareprovidedbyothermembersofthepatientcareteam. The Clinic Nurseisresponsible  for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Required Qualifications

Degreein

NursingfromaCCNE(Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ) or Accreditation

Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit.

  • Experienceinrelevantcaresettingpreferred.

Provide specialized outpatient nursing care for patients with genitourinary oncology and urologic conditions. Responsibilities include patient assessment, telephone triage, care coordination, patient education, symptom management, procedure scheduling, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Maintain accurate documentation and support patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
