Registered Nurse (RN) - MICU

RN – MICU

Shift: Day/Night or Nights (12D/N rotating contracts may include days, nights, or combination; assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period)

Requirements:

• License: RN must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience in the MICU specialty, must be current (working consistently in the last 12 months)
• Patient ratio experience: 2:1
• Key clinical skills:
• Ventilator management, high-flow and BiPAP/CPAP support
• CRRT experience and arterial/central line management
• Hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring; titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips
• ABG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Starting/maintaining IVs, blood product administration
• Suctioning (ETT/NT), chest tube care, procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with complex medication regimens and chemotherapy administration
• EMR: EPIC required (computerized charting)

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 72 hours
• Pre-approved time off: two (per contract)
• Vaccines:
  Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Strict credentialing deadline: compliance materials must be completed urgently — strict deadline of Tuesday prior to start (no exceptions)
• References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager/director or formal supervisor
• Education:
  
  RN education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
