Labor and Delivery Nurse
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive maternal care, adapting to operational needs and staffing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health status throughout labor and delivery.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed to facilitate labor and manage complications.
- Prepare patients and assist during delivery, ensuring clinical protocols are followed.
- Document all care activities accurately and maintain detailed patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Float to different units or care sites within the health system as needed to meet staffing demands.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Valid and current license or certification specific to Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Proven experience in labor and delivery, birthing suites, or maternal units.
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to respond quickly to changing clinical situations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including day shifts, with potential for float assignments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
