Registered Nurse In The Surgical Intensive Care Unit
This position requires a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit specializing in oncology. The role includes managing patients with critical conditions such as hemorrhagic shock, hypovolemic shock, and sepsis. Experience with patient care protocols and procedures in a high-acuity environment is essential. Nurses will be responsible for managing external ventricular drains and performing ICP monitoring. Mechanical ventilation and hemodynamic monitoring are also key responsibilities.
Support and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams are expected. Candidates must have the ability to work rotating schedules, including potential day and night shifts, based on department needs. This position entails working with a diverse patient population and requires excellent clinical judgment and communication skills. Candidates should be knowledgeable in emergency medication administration and management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction.
A commitment to infection prevention and adherence to safety protocols is critical. The ability to float to other critical care units may be required based on staffing needs. All candidates must have current acute care experience within the last 12 months in a similar specialty.
