Description:
Schedule may float to units with similar acuity. Requires knowledge and skills in various postpartum care areas. Responsible for administration of medications and assessments. Involves teaching new parents about infant care and breastfeeding. Daily patient ratios are typically 3-4 dyads (6-8 patients) on nights and weekends. Must be able to provide family-centered care and support to women and infants. Staffing may include interdisciplinary support teams such as IV teams and social services.
Expect to engage in care for a variety of patient diagnoses and conditions. Requires passing an EKG exam prior to start. Candidates must have the ability to float to different units as needed. A strict compliance deadline for credentialing is required. Two professional references are needed, including one from a manager or supervisor. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing processes.
Education must be from an accredited nursing program. Former employees are eligible for rehire after a six-month separation.
