Registered Nurse – Telemetry/Stepdown
Schedule
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (12-hour) - Every other weekend (Friday & Saturday nights)
Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Current active RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting within the last 12 months - BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation - IV skills: start/maintain peripheral IVs; experience with IV insulin protocols/insulin drips
- Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in the telemetry/stepdown unit, focusing on adult and geriatric populations.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 32 hours required
- Compliance with fingerprinting and background checks as per facility requirements
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
