Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit
Schedule
- Shift: 12-hour nights — 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend requirement: every other or every third weekend required
Requirements
- License:
Valid state or compact license required
- Certifications:
BLS and ACLS required
- Experience:
Minimum of 1 year recent Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown experience
- Skills:
Telemetry/PCU monitoring experience Vascular access: peripheral IVs, PICC/central line care Wound/burn care and post-op flap monitoring (including familiarity with leech therapy) Medication administration (including titratable drips) Dysrhythmia recognition/management and use of rapid response/code teams Non-invasive airway support and oxygen therapy
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care unit setting. Monitor patients' vital signs, telemetry, and overall condition, responding to changes as necessary. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care strategies. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and care plans.
Document patient care activities and interventions accurately using electronic medical records.

- Fingerprinting is required immediately after signing the contract. References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager or director. COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only).
