Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse – Nights
Shift: Nights (3x12) Every other weekend
Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required EPIC experience required Required certifications: BCLS (BLS), ACLS, NIHSS — AHA certifications only
Key clinical skills:
- Ventilator management / care of ventilated patients
- IV starts and management (including continuous IV sedation)
- Telemetry monitoring; dysrhythmia interpretation & management
- Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Familiarity with CRRT (NxStage) and Alaris pumps
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a medical intensive care unit.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, implementing nursing interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the charting system.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and patient progress.
Compliance / Notes:
Strict compliance deadlines for submission and fingerprinting. RTO required with submission and must be built into contract. Vaccines:
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only).
