A well-established behavioral health organization is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric care and medication management for adolescents in a residential treatment setting. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes for youth facing significant mental health and behavioral health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adolescent residents.
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications according to evidence-based practices.
  • Provide ongoing psychiatric care, medication reviews, and clinical follow-up.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, nursing staff, and other treatment team members.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
  • Provide clinical leadership during psychiatric crises and support safety planning efforts.
  • Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate care with families, legal guardians, hospitals, community providers, and referral sources as appropriate.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric-Mental Health specialization.
  • Active APRN licensure.
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).Current DEA registration and prescribing authority.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children and/or adolescents in a behavioral health setting.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred:
  • Residential treatment facility (RTF) experience.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and behavioral health regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Experience serving youth involved in child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
